As of 1995 the Norwegian insurance market has been open to insurance companies from other countries. As a result of this there are no longer only Norwegian speaking members in the Natural Perils Pool.

Some companies have for this reason, met difficulties in their contact with the pool, mainly because it took some time before all correspondence was translated to English, but also because no other country has a similar system.
